What is Matter?

Matter (formerly Project CHIP — Connected Home over IP) is an open-source connectivity standard for smart home devices. It aims to ensure interoperability across ecosystems so that a single device can work with Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings simultaneously.

How Matter Works
